Cart Detail not displaying in Main Street Theme in 3.4

The new cart detail in 3.4 is cool! In the squirrelcart theme, this looks great!

However, the cart detail breakdown is not showing in the MainStreet Theme - just says the total number of items and total cost in the cart.

Is there a way to make the mainstreet cart preview box look like the squirrelcart theme cart preview box?

Well, I've been working on my store all day, and somehow it started to work :-) I uploaded a new copy of main street, and heavily customized it to duplicate the look of the rest of my web page, and voila - it is working again.

Well, don't laugh at me -
I found it. In my custom theme, I removed the following div:

<div id="cart_options_top">
<?php print sc_cart_options_nav('simple')?>
</div>

If I add back the div id="cart_options_top" then the detail in the cart on the left disappears and it only lists the number of items in the cart.

So, I do think that this div conflicts with the new cart detail. Any easy workaround?
