New Account Login and Creation Settings
- This is a storewide setting. Uncheck it, and customers are not allowed to login. To simulate this in older versions, you had to remove the Account Options navigation block, and disable the Account Choice form.
- Some merchants have sites that require an account to order. Some of these merchants want to create the accounts themselves and not allow customers to create their own accounts. Unchecking this will make it so customers can't create user accounts, but they will still be able to login and modify existing accounts.
- This replaces and improves on the old Force User Creation setting. It controls when and if login will be required in order to checkout. Settings are:
auto - This lets Squirrelcart decide when logins are required

The default setting will be auto. The nice thing about this setting is when used in conjunction with the Download Delivery module. If a customer has a downloadable item in their cart, they will be required to login. This ensures that the download module can check the customer's past orders to determine whether or not they are allowed to download.
New Access Restrictions features:
OK. This is pretty cool for those that need it.
Store Access Restrictions allow you to restrict access to the entire store to a group you designate. With it enabled, here is what a customer sees when they visit the storefront page without being logged in:
This blocks access to everything, but is smart enough to still allow the customer to reset their password, create an account, and use your contact form for help if you have the contact module installed.
If the customer logs in but is not in the designated group, they see this:
When they are added to the designated group, they will see your store as it normally would appear.
Product Access Restrictions allow you to restrict the purchase of products based on group membership. To enable the feature, you check the Restrict Product Access field. The Product Restriction field controls how the restriction will be handled. Products that are restricted can't be ordered. This settings controls whether or not restricted products can be seen, and if so whether prices will be shown or not.
Once enabled, you will see a new fieldset on both category and product records:
If you allow restricted products to appear, the message you enter in the Restrict Product Message field will appear on the product page.
