Inventory control - product options

My webstore's products all have options. I can keep inventory of the product if there are no options - but when I have options that are SM/MD/LG - each of those is a different SKU # - and I don't see a way to differentiate that on the product page.

Or is there some way on the product page to have several inventory control fields - so that we can put the option # in the inventory control field...does that make sense?

On one of my products, I have 2 different warehouse sites (up in Canada we don't have warehouses in every state that makes overall shipping less expensive). I want to give my customers the option of choose from either warehouse (to make shipping less costly for them) - however at this time I can only choose 1 warehouse address.

Is it possible to have more than 1 warehouse option available for the products?

We don't have a feature to designate SKUs or product codes for product options.

We don't have a feature that would allow your customers to choose where an item ships from.

Yes, I realize these features aren't available - which is why I posted them under feature requests - because I'm asking that they be added as features.

The product code doesn't work for me - when my sm/md, Lge & XLG all have different product codes - I would have to enter them as 3 different products - and considering I have about 100 products that all having sizing and each has a different sku - that would equate to 300 thumbnails in my product display that are redundant (meaning there would be a picture of my 1 product, 3 times (one for sm/med, one for lge, one for xlg).

I know I've read from other posters on the forum that they also have the sizing/options issues - so I'm thinking that I'm not the only one with this issue - which is why having a product sku available under the options might work better for those of us with these issues....or do you have a better idea of how to make this situation work? I'm all for suggestions and ideas :-)

Stock for product options is added at the product level, not on the product option record. See step #1 under either of the 2 sections that explain how to add stock for product options:

Yes - I understand that - I was at the product level and not the product option level ... and still did not see the stock option.

I followed the instructions that you sent me (via the link you sent) and the stock option does not show up ...

Nope - didn't - thanks for pointing me to that Now I can do that for some of my products - but again - those with separate sku's for SM, MED, LARGE - I still can't do inventory control for :-(
