    FedEx Ship Manager Direct: An unknown error has occurred.

    I'm trying to subscribe through Shipping settings to FedEx. I have a valid FedEx account and can login there. I have successfully configured UPS and USPS and get RTR for both of those.

    However, I can't seem to get FedEx configured and keep getting the "Unknown Error" message when I try. I'm sure it's something completely rediculous that I have overlooked but the error is not helping to point me in the right direction and I'm not sure where to look for more detailed information for this error.

    If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    FedEx is retiring their old API system, and replacing it with a new system based on
    web services technology. They turned off the registration/signup portion of the old API system on June 1st. The rest of the system is being turned off some time in 2012.

    We have been working round the clock to re-certify with them for their new system. Due to the enormity of this, and due to the fact that they have many companies to deal with for certification we were not able to get this done in time to beat that June 1st deadline. People that already signed up before June 1st won't have a problem. As of June 1st, signups will not function.

    We expect to have an update available very soon (hopefully in approximately 30 days).

    They have offered us a workaround for signups in the meantime. Just send us all the info you would normally enter into the signup form via email:

    We will send that info to our contact there and they should be able to get you going.

    Originally, I was told that something could be done for customers that could not signup after the June 1st deadline and to contact FedEx on an as needed basis to get customers a meter number. I am now being told that they are not going to accommodate signups for this situation unless those customers have high shipping volume.

    I wish there was something I could do, but this is completely out of my control. I'm working as fast as humanly possible to get through their certification process so we can get an update out for this. When that update is available, you will be able to signup.
