Instructions were clear. Took about 15 minutes to get up and running. Took about 1 minute to register with FedEx. ( I consider that fast)...

While I am not sure of the actual difference between what was and what is, the labels print great ( I can now get two labels on the expensive label paper) and all tracking appears to be working.

That's great! Glad to hear it.

It should function the same, though it is very different behind the scenes. We did add a few extra features that we didn't support before, like:

    - Non Standard Container
    - Small Quantity Exception
    - Dry Ice
    - Hold at Location
    - The ability to charge customers list OR account rates
    - SmartPost

    WFH... What The Heck!

I've been using FedEx since 2005 and have always ordered boxes from them (free)... I did not know they gave away their labels. I've been buying labels from Staples at $36.00 per 100!

Thanks to your info - YES FedEx does give them away for FREE (even in Canada)! I like free. Not sure if this is new or not, but I actually never noticed the "order labels here" link on their website before...

    Wow, that's good to know!

Just think of how much coffee you could have bought with that money!

    A Few More Questions

Jamie I am glad you've added the choice between list or account rates!

    Three questions...

1.) Can you explain SmartPost - I noticed it in the setup, but never used it since I am in Canada and all locations were in the United States - perhaps it is a US function only...

2.) When I use SquirrelCart to create the order with FedEx I notice if I go to my actual account with FedEx that the customer is not added to my address book. Could you add a check box to add to my address book within my personal FedEx account? While I understand it is not necessary, since all data is populated when creating shipping order, it would be a "nice" feature.

3.) Sometimes I do ship to the United States from Canada - while I have not tried it, can you let me know if the following will work. When I log onto the Canadian FedEx site with my account, it knows if I am preparing an international shipment, and as such, asks if I wish to create a customs invoice - this all happens "automatically" since I am shipping from Canada to the United States. Would the same "screens" pop -up in the SquirrelCart FedEx Web Integration or do you recommend when handling international shipments that we go directly to the FedEx site and fill out paperwork there?

I did not release new docs for this, though they will be present in the docs for v3.4.0. SmartPost is a service offered by FedEx via a partnership with the USPS, for delivering low weight shipments to residential US addresses only. It's not available in Canada. You must be approved to use SmartPost before you can ship that way. You can learn more here:
    http://www.fedex.com/us/smart-post/index.html

I don't believe they offer a feature that would do that. I'll check with their support to be sure.

All the necessary info for generating the shipping label can be handled via Squirrelcart, for domestic and international shipping. We do not generate customs forms, so if your shipping requires a corresponding customs form you may need to fill one out and include it with the shipment.

FedEx Web Services support has confirmed that they do not have a feature to create address book entries via web services that will appear on your account at FedEx.com.

I know I have been ordering them for years from them, I think my FedEx rep was the one telling me I could order them

Dang thats alot for the staples labels. I know at one time before I looked at them there and was like forget that, I'll just tape it on the boxes.
