    Post Worldpay and.... Worldpay?

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give a heads up about an issue I ran into. We are setting up a cart for a client who is going through a VAR (SquirrelSystems) for their payment gateways. They're tying the online cart, POS sales in their physical store, etc., to this VAR.

The VAR set up a merchant Gateway with Worldpay, and sent me the info. I plugged in the required info into SC, but no joy. It did pass data to WP, but with errors.

I finally got a conference call with me, Worldpay, and the VAR to resolve the issue.

The short story is- there are apparently two Worldpays- Worldpay.com, and Worldpay.us. The client's VAR had him going to the .us version.

The way Worldpay seems to work is it takes the buyer off-site to the gateway provider, collects info there, and then returns them to the cart. So when I did a test transaction and read off the resulting URL to the Worlpay.us tech guy, he said "That's not us."

I didn't quite understand the whole corporate structure thing, but the gist of the matter seemed to be that I could not get a connection set up for Worldpay.us.

We didn't explore setting up a custom connection because the VAR said she could just set it up through Authorize.net, which all of our other clients use, so I know it works.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pass it along. Apologies if it's been discussed before.

Worldpay.com seems to now redirect to Worldpay.us:
    http://www.worldpay.com

That would seem to indicate that they are the same company. Our integration was written for what they call WorldPay Select Junior.

That's what I asked the tech guy... isn't "Worldpay" the same company? He explained something about the parent company being the same, but that the .com and .us were different. I just sort of said "Oooookaaayy".

I'm just glad that the VAR could switch to Authorize.net! We have quite a few customers using SC with that and it works fabulous.
