    Pay Pal how to

I need a little help setting up the Paypal Website Payments Pro module.

    The options listed are:

    Account Name (optional??)
    Account Password (optional??)
    Certificate Path
    Transaction Type
    Connection Method
    Enabled (this is self explanatory)
    Paypal mode
    IPN
    No Shipping

Is there already a post that I can read to see exactly what I need to do to make paypal my only accepted form of payment? I don't want my customers to have to sign up for a paypal account.

    Thank you.

I decided to call paypal and am almost done, but when I go to check out, I get: "Path to certificate is invalid"

I created a folder in the root of my ftp site, before the public_html directory, we'll call it "paypal". The cert file inside of it is called ppcer.txt.

What needs to go in the "certificate path" section of the webiste payments pro module??

Okay, I got the cert problem figured out.

Now I'm struggling with what modules actually need to be enabled.

Example: In payment methods, do I leave Mastercard, Visa And Amex selected, and under payment gateways, have paypal web payments pro selected?

I guess it's not working how I imagined it would. I though during checkout, they would just input the credit card number, and the processor would be paypal. I want it to work like it used to work when authorize.net was my gateway.

Right now, it's redirecting the customer to paypals webiste, then back to mine. And when they get sent back to mine, the customer gets an error that says " Error: error validating information with PDT. "

    ?????????

Documentation for Squirrelcart can be found here:

Documentation for setting up PayPal Website Payments Pro within Squirrelcart can be found here:

PayPal Pro is a payment gateway, used to accept credit cards. Instructions for setting up credit card payments can be found here:
    http://www.squirrelcart.com/help/?En...0Payments.html

Example: In payment methods, do I leave Mastercard, Visa And Amex selected,
You'll need to enable the credit card payment methods enabled on your PayPal Pro account. They support Visa, Mastercard, and Discover by default. American Express is also supported if you agree to it separately with them.

and under payment gateways, have paypal web payments pro selected?
Yes, the PayPal Website Payments Pro payment gateway record must be enabled and configured per the documentation for PayPal Pro linked to above.

I guess it's not working how I imagined it would. I though during checkout, they would just input the credit card number, and the processor would be paypal. I want it to work like it used to work when authorize.net was my gateway.
That is exactly how PayPal Pro works. In addition, it also allows a customer to pay with their PayPal account if they prefer to. That functionality is part of PayPal Pro, and must be provided as well, per the agreement you agreed to when you signed up for your PayPal Pro account.

Right now, it's redirecting the customer to paypals webiste, then back to mine.
That happens when the customer chooses "PayPal" as a payment method instead of a credit card payment method. It also happens if they choose to checkout with PayPal on the address form, which they consider "Express Checkout". All of those features are a mandatory part of PayPal Pro.

And when they get sent back to mine, the customer gets an error that says " Error: error validating information with PDT. "
PDT is not used with PayPal Pro. It sounds like you enabled PayPal Standard, not pro. PayPal Standard is listed as a payment method, and PayPal Pro is listed as a payment gateway.

If you follow our documentation for PayPal Website Payments Pro, it should work fine.
