Installation problems with 3.3.3 & Donwload module 1.1.1

Basically, I'm having so many problems with this I'm not even sure where to begin.

I installed the cart, and add the downloads module. Things just seem haywire...

If I add a product, the page refreshes to the download screen. I can go back to products, and I don't see the product added unless I refresh the screen. If I add a download through that manager, and associate it with a product, that product then disappears from the products page until I refresh.

Like I said, I'm not even sure how to describe all the issues I'm having. Anyone else have issues with adding the download manager?

This is the 3rd time I've tried this today- all clean installs each time. And I've installed SC for at least half a dozen other clients successfully, and never had issues before.
