Faster Web Page Loads

This is just a heads up - my hosting service tech folks changed a setting on my PHP loads and wow - the page loads on the store are fast - I'd easily say 3 to 4 times faster...

Here is what they told me (for reference)...

We have resolved the issue by switching the PHP engine from CGI mode to ISAPI mode. We also believe that the general speed between the sending of messages have also improved significantly.

Is there any side effect moving from CGI to this ISAPI mode? Sometimes there is a trade off, but I am not a PHP wizard and perhaps you can shed some light!

PHP is PHP as far as our software is concerned, it doesn't matter how its being run. It sounds like you are on a Windows server. As for server performance, you may see an improvement with ISAPI, which is going to run PHP via a dll. From what I've read, ISAPI may be faster but supposedly CGI is more reliable.
