Is there a was built-in to configure the User account setup page to include a way for users to cehk that they would like to receive email new updates or notifications about new products, etc. ?
Looked through the COntrol Panel but didn't see anything obvious...

Hmmm. I've downloaded and installed the module but the account form does not ask any additional questions....
Did you create any news groups using the instructions at the link above?
