    RTR Failure Notification

Is it possible to have the cart notify if a particular order used the "Real Time Rate Failure" rule instead of RTR value? Right now, if RTR fails, the cart still reports the selected shipping type (UPS Ground for example), but doesn't notify that the calculated value was used instead of an actual RTR. I've been wondering why some of my customers were getting charged such high $ amounts for UPS ground shipments and I just figured out that it was RTR failing.

This seems to be happening more and more lately. I will be upgrading to the latest version come about June 1...is there some SIGNIFICANT change in UPS RTR processing that might lead to 3.x having fewer RTR failures than my current SC 2.6.x...or are RTR issues unrelated to SC version and more related to connectivity issues?

I have never had this many RTR failures where the 15% rule is getting used...what is the best way to figure out what is causing these?

80 views and not a single suggestion or comment? Am I the only person having an increased number of UPS RTR problems lately. My customers are getting overcharged for shipping left and right because of the 15% fallback rule (which is better than nothing, but I still have to watch and refund the difference). I have no idea how to go about figuring out why this is failing so much more lately, no idea if there are significant bug improvements that will fix this when I upgrade to 3.x next month.

I have not opened a "ticket" in the helpdesk yet because I have not been able to do the typical "upgrade to the latest version" first. I'm just after some pointers as to where I should look for diagnosing the RTR problems (which I'm betting are happening on about 50% of my orders right now). Are there specific CURL version issues, specific settings for PHP that might cause this, anything??? Help Please!

5 Years of Shipping Requests - One Failure

Over 900 shipping requests (minus the pick up at our studio - option) only 1 real time rate failure...

SC and real time rates (FedEx) are working for me...

    Should We Compare?

    To help troubleshot...

What info can I give you that might help you?

I only use FedEx and "pick up at our studio" (my custom $0.00 shipping charge)... Now we've implemented Canada Post, and so far so good...

Let me know what screen capture I can offer to compare setup...

I do have the latest updates (versions) from Jamie...

As I said, this problem is happening in 2.6.3 (NOT the latest version) as my upgrade to 3.x won't happen until June (due to complete revamp of style for new version).

I ONLY use UPS. For all I know, this is a problem with UPS and not SC. I'm trying to find out if others are having RTR problems with UPS with version 2.6.3 (or any version). If I'm the only one, then I'm trying to find out what specific items I should look at for trouble shooting.

FWIW, none of the settings for my RTR have changed and I don't remember this being an issue until recently. I did migrate to a new server recently, which is running IIS 7.5 on 2008 R2, and is using the latest PHP and MySQL versions. So, are there any known issues with UPS RTR (or any RTR) with the latest versions of PHP, CURL, etc?

I've had no other reports of any particular problems with UPS for your version.

I'd start by finding an order that did not receive a rate via UPS Online Tools, and replicate the order using the same address information. See what you get for rates. You should also do that with Diagnostics Mode turned on so you can view the full response returned by UPS.

No. CURL either works or it doesn't. There wouldn't be a problem with CURL that would cause UPS rates to not be returned 50% of the time.
