    Canada Post!!!

    Hi Jamie,

I am so so so glad you have Canada Post available in your new release (3.2.0)... although I still have yet to implement it, I know my customers will be happy...

I will keep you posted as to the process. I understand for RTR's (we) need to create an account with Canada Post etc...

    Not Working For Me...

Jamie, it's not working for me at the moment... Any ideas?

(When I say not working... the cart seems to "look" as it hesitates from the one continue screen - then nothing, only FedEx comes up?)

    I will continue to play...

    Please

    * Please allow 24 hours for your new virtual card to be activated at your local post office while your permanent card is being processed. Please allow 10 to 14 days for delivery of your new card.

I had a bit of trouble compiling the PDF version of our documentation this time around with the application we use for help authoring. Because of that, I have not gotten our documentation for this online yet. I'm uploading the HTML version of it now. When its up, and you load this URL:
    http://www.squirrelcart.com/help

you will automatically be redirected to:
    http://www.squirrelcart.com/help/3.2.0

When that happens, you'll find docs for this under Configuration > Shipping. The process requires a "CPC ID" which is different from your VentureOne customer number.

I'll post back here when the docs are online.

    Thank You...

    Thanks Jamie,

Email has been sent. For your records, I will keep track how long the process actually takes. The Venture One Account took about 5 minutes to fill out and had the email in my mailbox within 30 minutes.

I have no sent the info per your instructions to Canada Post for the CPC ID number. Will keep you posted as the length of time.

I don't mind being the first to implement... (or has someone already set this up?)

We worked with a customer to get this going, but they are not officially using it. You'll probably be the first (other than my tests).

One thing that differs with regards to Canada Post is that they specifically prefer that you show the time frame that the customer can expect instead of the service names:
    ca-post-customer.png

The only service name appearing in that example is Priority Worldwide USA because Canada Post does not return delivery estimates for that service. In most cases, your customers will never see a service name on the shipping method step during the checkout process.

    Works!

    Jamie,

Just wanted to let you and your readers know that the Canada Post RTR's works flawlessly. Basically, they (Canada Post) send you a link to configure all types of options...

Not sure if the squirrelcart options have to match the Canada Post options but, the RTR's work!!!

If anyone else out there in Canada is thinking on using Canada Post, they should. It seamless and easy to implement. Plus, the customer saves on small items compared to using FedEx or UPS...

    John

That's great! Glad to hear it.

See the Rate Accuracy section at the bottom of this page:
    http://squirrelcart.com/help/?Canada...ll_Online.html

Their APIs are different than USPS, UPS, FedEx, and AusPost. Instead of sending requests for each package, you sent a list of items and their weights. The settings in their control panel are used by the API to determine what rates to return.
