When a person adds an item to the cart it is never reduced to 0

I have come across a problem where my inventory is not going down to 0 when a customer adds the max number of products in there cart. The inventory will go down to 1 which allows the user to add one more then they should be able to or allows another customer (or multiple customers) to add the item to there cart before the first customer checks out. I am currently running SC 3.0.1 and I did have a problem with the inventory and followed the steps in fixing that problem found here:

That is the only bug fix for inventory control for your version that I'm aware of. If that didn't work, before troubleshooting further, I'd recommend either upgrading to 3.1.0 (best) OR applying every bug fix released for your version in the order that they were released.
