    Having Trouble Setting Up FirstData Payment Gateway

    Hello Jamie. Its me again. Sorry, I just don't know who to ask for help or which way to go.

    I am setting up a cart for a client who is using FirstData (formerly known as LinkPoint). They are using the non- API option as they don't have access to a SSI.

    I followed the help instructions provide in the cart for FirstData (thanks for putting the help link right on the Payment Gateway page!)

    I put in the store name (the long number they sent in the FirstData account set up email) left certificate path field blank, selected "Auth_Capture" in transaction type, selected "client side non-secure form post" and click to enable then saved.

    Next I logged into the client's virtual terminal with FirstData and set up the connection settings page as the store cart help instructed. I put in the url that shows when people are finshing their order: http://www.fun-tronicsllc.com/store.php (using http and not https since they are not on a secure server) in all three places it was requested and check both the "Url is a CGI Script" and "automatically display Confirmation Page after the Connect receipt page" boxes where asked and saved the data successfully.

    When I go into the cart and attempt to purchase something I get an error 1002. I also tried using the DBA store name and that didn't correct the error message.

    I don't really know where to turn next for help on getting this resolved. I hate working with payment gateways, I can never seem to get them to work without extreme difficulty!

    One thing I noticed is that when the shopping cart is attempting to access the gateway site it is going to www.linkPointcentral.com. and LinkPoint Connect is the title of the error page that it displays. I would have thought that the link would be going to a URL associated with FirstData, since they changed names some time ago. Do I need to update the link going to FirstData somewhere. That is the only thing my non programmer mind can think of.

    The set up email the client forwarded to me have two url's listed:

    Access Global Gateway Connect Administrative functions via the Global Gateway Virtual Terminal Administration section:
    > - Visit https://www.firstdata.com/ecommerce

    Global Gateway Connect Posting URL =>
    > https://secure.linkpt.net/lpc/servlet/lppay


    Any trouble shooting advice is appreciated!

    Same problem with First Data Global Gateway Connect

    I know this post is from over a year ago but I was just wondering if you ever figured this out because I'm having the EXACT same problem.

    Thanks to Jamie, this problem has been solved.

    In Squirrelcart's FirstData record where it asks for "Store Name", don't enter your store's actual name but rather enter your store number (the 10 digit number which was assigned to you by FirstData).
