Editing Orders?

Hi,

Can we editing orders?

Like if a customer ordered three items and calls in a cancels one item?

Also, if we find out it's on back order with no known shipping date, so we have to cancel it? Can we edit the order say, and have the cart readjust the shipping cost, taxes, and totals, then send out a new email?

We don't have a feature to alter an order once it's placed. You can change the address information on it, but that's about it.

Can it be updated in the database?

You can update anything you like in your database via direct MySQL queries. We don't have a feature to alter orders.

One other thing, say a person calls in to place an order, I find it difficult locating the product. I need to be able to locate the item by stock no. Is there a way to do this?

I figured if there is no way, I could always set it up by putting the numbers in the description field like this <1-- number here --> Then use the search feature but I would like to get the search feature customized soon, so it only looks for whole words and only looks in the keywords field.

Is there a easier way?
