Applying SSL

Can anyone recomend a basic tutorial for applying SSL?

I have a Certificate Signing Request and a RSA Private Key from my host but I do not know where to start making my store secure.

Although it really doesn't matter if you purchased your certificate from Directron or not, they do have a pretty handy and relatively comprehensive guide to installing certificates for various server environments:

You will likely need to cooperate with your host to make sure the CA/'core' certificates are installed and your server can handle/redirect SSL traffic properly.

For me, initially I tried to self-certify, just to have the presence of encrypted traffic for troubleshooting urls and stuff. However, my server was not initially set up for SSL, so any requests to my domain via https://... actually redirected to the host's domain, not a secure link to mine. A few emails later, and all was set up correctly.
