I am still not getting any luck with it sending an email!!
Jamie fixed this problem in a release like 2.1.1 or 2 I cannot remember exactly. Make sure your using the newest ver and it should work. All working here now.

I am using the latest version. Maybe there is an option somewhere I need to check (enable). Haven't found it so far.
I do not recall an option to turn it off or on. I just remember it being part of the functionality. Keep in mind I believe it only works when adding a shipment and not just a status change.

Ok, I did a testing on one of my test orders by adding a"Shipped" Status and no email. So on my end it is not working.
I better write a support ticket and I will share the feedback here later.
What did you find out on this?
I would also like to know how this turned out.....
For me, I would be very happy for it to send an email just when the status changes to 'shipped'.

My Squirrelcart is running good! Hope everyone's else's is.
But, I thought it would automatically send an email confirming shipment. I can't seem to get it working. I feel this is important, as it would be time consuming writing all these "order confirmations"out.
I noticed this thread and was wondering if anyone resolved this issue?
If the cart doesn't send a email shipped confirmation out, has anyone found a way to add the feature?

If you have the ship notification email enabled on your Store Settings page, Squirrelcart will send your customer an email when you create a shipment record for an order. If that's not happening, open a helpdesk ticket and we can look into it.If the cart doesn't send a email shipped confirmation out, has anyone found a way to add the feature?

I have read this thread and it seems you need to create a shipment in order for a shipment email to be sent out. How hard would it be to make it to where when I change the status to shipped that an email message that I create is sent out?
At the present time I have to click each buyers email on the main order page one by one and send them a message from windows live mail.

We did that mainly because the shipment notification email contains information as to how the item was shipped (what courier/method) and also contains tracking info (if enabled). That info is not available if you just mark an order with a status of shipped.
However, the function that sends the shipment notification email is setup to work fine when that information is not available.
I just added support for this to the next release. To add it to v3.1.2 (and maybe older versions up to 3.0.0), stick these two function files in squirrelcart/functions/control_panel/
