I'm not trying to set up my gateway for the first time and my test isn't working.
I get to the "Charge my card .... " button and click it and come to a non valid page. https://secure.linkpt.net/lpc/servlet/lppay, is this where it should go? Did I do something wrong?
Also is this going to be automatic or can I go in and make changes before the card is actually charged? (like if I'm out of an item)
I'm trying to set up my store to be totally automated, but since I didn't start out that way I have to go back and make sure all the data is input.

Hi Melissa,
The URL seems to be incorrect. That URL worked fine when we integrated with LinkPoint, but I just read their documentation, and it looks like it should now be:
https://www.linkpointcentral.com/lpc/servlet/lppay
I also made another change which may help. The mode field that is sent to them needs to be set to "fullpay" if you are collecting CC data on their site, and "payplus" if you are not. This was not toggling in v1.2.0. Please upload the attached file to your "squirrelcart/payment_gateways" folder, and let me know if it helps.
Thanks,
Jamie

It does seem like I am not getting to the correct page. I'm not sure if its working though, I think I'd have to follow through with the whole transaction.
It doesn't have the CCV as a required field though, so I don't know if people will actually take the time to look it up.
Also on the page there is no personal information fields, maybe they are on the next screen that I haven't gone to yet, but I would think they'd all be together. Does it take the address from my order form?
Now I just need the Shipping question answered too since there was NO shipping charge added to the order... plus I need to know if I can change the amounts once the "Charge my card" button has been pushed... or will I be making adjustments outside of the transaction?

Hi Melissa,
I'm not sure if its working though, I think I'd have to follow through with the whole transaction.
You can place a test order using Visa number 4111111111111111. If you submit it, and get a message back from LinkPoint saying you have an invalid credit card number, than it is working properly.
It doesn't have the CCV as a required field though, so I don't know if people will actually take the time to look it up.
I'm not sure I understand. You can make this field required, and control whether it appears using your Store Settings page.
Also on the page there is no personal information fields, maybe they are on the next screen that I haven't gone to yet, but I would think they'd all be together. Does it take the address from my order form?
If you are referring to the fact that the page where you enter your credit card number does not ask for your address, then yes, this is normal. That is obtained from the address form. If you logged into your cart before placing an order, you may not have seen that form.
Now I just need the Shipping question answered too since there was NO shipping charge added to the order
How is your shipping setup? This would probably be better handled in a helpdesk ticket. Please specify in the ticket exactly what item you are adding to the cart, and what you are specifying for the ship to address.
I need to know if I can change the amounts once the "Charge my card" button has been pushed... or will I be making adjustments outside of the transaction?
On the payment gateway record for LinkPoint, you should have a field labeled "Transaction Type". The value can be AUTH_CAPTURE or AUTH_ONLY. From the field help for that field:
AUTH_CAPTURE:
Transactions of this type will be sent for authorization. The transaction will be automatically picked up for settlement if approved. This is the default transaction type in the gateway. If no type is indicated when submitting transactions to the gateway, the gateway will assume that the transaction is of the type AUTH_CAPTURE.
AUTH_ONLY:
Transactions of this type are submitted if the merchant wishes to validate the credit card for the amount of the goods sold. If the merchant does not have goods in stock or wishes to review orders before shipping the goods, this transaction type should be submitted. The gateway will send this type of transaction to the financial institution for approval. However this transaction will not be sent for settlement.
I am not familiar with LinkPoint's control panel. They probably allow you to alter a transaction if it was sent via the AUTH_ONLY method, but I am not sure.
Thanks,
Jamie
