Custom Product Fields

I don't know if there is someway to do this already, but I have a text file of hundreds of products that gets updated frequently. The database has the product information in separate fields, including description, color, size, etc.

As I see it, Squirrelcart has only one description field, which means I would have to integrate this data by hand into the description field. This is way too cumbersome!!!

Is there any way that I can add more fields that can display in the product detail page? Would this involve me having to write custom code to do it?

I really need this option, as well. I am using the cart for a realtor and need to add many fields to make the product pages useful for them. This doesn't seem like it should be too difficult, but I REALLY need it. Jamie talked about this last year, but apparently it hasn't yet been implemented.
