Over the past few days I ave been experiencing a weird graphics problem with squirrelcart.
Basically the images decide to show only half an image it is cut off about half way down, this can be on the thumbnail, product or large image.
Corrupt file? well here's the weird part, I ftp into the site and download the offending image and it is fine, I re upload and it is not, however change the name slightly and re install through the admin section and all is fine again.
The "half" image also shows up in the admin, products section in the listing.
This has now happened about 6 times in 3 days. If you have any clues i would be grateful

Hi,
That is definitely strange. The cart does not modify the images in any way, or display them in an odd fashion. It uses a regular <img> tag. This might be a server issue of some sort, but I am just guessing.
Once the image appears messed up, does it consistently appear that way on every page load, or is it random?
When you are accessing the file via a browser and seeing the problem, you are getting the file via HTTP. When you download it, you are using FTP. So...the server may be having some sort of weird problem serving image files via HTTP. The fact that you can rename it and reupload, and it is OK, makes it sound like it may be a problem with the file in cache memory on the server. When you rename it, the server is forced to grab a new copy of the image from disk, so maybe the copy it had in cache was messed up some how?
I'd suggest you check with your web host, and see if they've had any other reports of this.
Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie,
Thanks, I am just fishing for clues.
I am just guessing as well now :)
To answer your question, No once it has happened it is not random and will repeat every load, another 2 images died this morning. The image itself is not really messed up just "cut off" about half way down.
I agree this seems to be an Http situation, however this is our own server and it runs many graphic intensive sites and I would have expected errors creeping in elswhere.
I am sure this is not an issue with the cart itself and like i said above i am now guessing and just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and/or any possible solution
