Orders

Hi!

I don't know if I'm lost or not, but is there a place to view orders in the admin section? I see that under the order tab I can view the customers address and total, but what about an item list? What if I need to adjust the items and email a new total or something like that?

I will be using QuickBooks for invoicing so that's not a problem, but having 2 totals match the same sure is helpful.

Hi Melissa,

You cannot view the orders in the admin section. There is a link named "Orders" for emergency purposes, but it is not very useful. The only way to currently view orders is via the email that gets sent.

what happens if mail gets lost in deep space? Any chance to recover a lost order? Does SC actually store any order info?

Hi Emilio,

Squirrelcart does store the order info in the Orders and Ordered_Items table, but there is no current way to make good use of the info. We are working on order management, which may or may not make it into the next version.

What will definitely make it into the next version is the ability for the merchant to mark the status of an order, and for the customers to be able to see their orders and the status of them if they login and click "Order Status". The orders will be displayed to the customer similar to the way they see them at checkout.
