Modifying the e-mail sent?

I'd like to be able to modify the e-mail sent out when an order is made, to kind of personalize it. I haven't been able to figure out where that is yet, but I am sure it is there.
My thought is that it would be more convenient to have an option to change it in the control panel, may part of the Store Settings?
Anyway, just a thought.

This is actually controlled by a template file. The email that is sent to the customer is controlled by "order_confirmation_email.php" and the one sent to the merchant is controlled by "order_notification_email.php".
