Different shipping rules for different products

Hi there,

I sell all my products from different dropshippers. I therefore need to set different shipping rules depending on which dropshipper the product comes from. For example, all dog toys come from one seller (dropshipper) and follow one set of rules for example lets say each toy is £2 shipping and and extra £1 for each additional toy, whereas the dog beds come from a different seller who might say, for example that one bed is £5 shipping and £4 extra for each bed after that.

I suppose I have two questions here:

Firstly, how do I set up and use different rules depending on who the dropshipper is? I have set up each dropshipper as a warehouse but still fail to see how to use this to work out shipping rates.

Secondly, how do you set up a product so that shipping is a certain amount for the first item and an extra x amount for each item after that?

Inventory control: Used for maintaining the stock levels at multiple locations. Real Time Rates: The warehouse zip code is sent to either UPS or USPS for determining shipping rates. VAT (added in v1.6.2): Used to determine the proper VAT to be charged for an order.The shipping rules do not make use of the warehouse features at this time.

Thank you for explaining warehouses - I understand now :o

Is there any way then that I can set up a shipping rule and associate a certain product with that rule and associate a different product with a different shipping rule and so on?

I am seeing all these rules I can set up but am not seeing a use for them.
