I want to be able to accept all credit cards, and have it pay me with PayPal.

PayPal is not listed on the Gateways, how do I add it, or how do I set this up?

PayPal is not a gateway, they use a gateway, they are more accurately a processor. You have to enable PayPal in the "Methods" area.

Hello Rich. PayPal has Website Payments Pro, which is an API that allows you to use PayPal as a 'gateway' instead of the way we do it now, by having direct the customer to the PayPal site for completion of payment. It would be a great benefit if SquirrelCart would incorporate this method. Detals are at

I know you probably can't commit to when something like this would be available, but it would definately be a great help to have it.

As a brand new Squirelcart user, I would love to see this implemented ASAP. PayPal is offering a free trial, so the sooner the better.

This would be great if you could implement this new feature from paypal. I'm just starting an ecommerce site and this would make it so much easier to get up and running and still allow customers to stay on the site for c/c transactions. I'd even be willing to kick in some $ if there are any others willing to do the same and help pay for the extra programming...

Hi Everyone,

Judging by the fact that we've gotten so many requests here and in email for this (and it was just announced by PayPal recently!) we will have to add it soon. We are working on v2.0.0 which will be out as a beta within a few hours. I'll add this to the list for the next release after that.

v2.0.0 has support for PayPal's Auto Return, IPN, and PDT features.

Jamie, an added incentive to update Squirrelcart with the new PayPal program is that they are listing compatible shopping carts. Business PayPal members would be able to see a blurb about Squirrelcart, knowing that it includes the new capability from the start.

Just a thought to ponder (or to motivate)...

new paypal service was announced. Looks like it's easier to accept credit cards without a lot of hassle:

will squirrel cart be supporting this service soon?

The all-in-one payment solution.

Get the payment-processing capabilities of a merchant account and gateway – plus much more. Website Payments Pro is:

* Complete. You don’t need a separate merchant account and gateway.

* Customizable. Control your checkout from start to finish, and easily integrate PayPal with your order-management system and shopping cart.

* Low-cost. For affordable rates with no hidden fees, accept all major credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal payments.

As Jamie mentioned above (http://www.ldev.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7010#post6961), this new PayPal method will be added in the first release after v2.0.0 is completed. This means it won't be added until v2.0.1 or v2.1.0.
