Real time rates (RTR) for USPS are not working. They worked yesterday but not today. Does USPS have a problem with not being able to connect to them to get the rates, or is it on my end?

Anyone had this problem?

thanks

Hi Bill,

USPS real time rates could fail for a number of reasons. I'd suggest you go through all the steps on this page:
http://www.squirrelcart.com/help/1.5.0/?4.4.3.1.5

It describes how to test real time rates. If the problem is due to a configuration issue on your server, you will most likely not have a problem with the test in step 1.

I get the following output for curl

******************************************

HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="Authentication is required: Please enter username/pass. All activity is monitored and logged. (ID12812)" Connection: close

*******************************************

Does that mean there is a server problem?

I don't get anything from SSL. But it never did anyway. GoDaddy.com does not support OpenSSL.

Thanks for the help

Bill

Hi Bill,

That is definitely a problem. It looks like we have our USPS real time rates listed as requiring OpenSSL, which is not the case. It does require CURL, and if the first link on the diag_curl.php page is failing, then CURL is not working properly. You should probably contact GoDaddy support to have them resolve that. You might want to include a link to the diag file for testing.

Thanks,
Jamie
