Is there anyway to have the CCV number emailed with the order? We already have a payment verification system in-house, and I just want the emails to have all the data we need to process the order.

Thanks.

Hi,

It is actually against Visa and MasterCard regulations to store CVV2 or CVC2 codes in any format. It is an added security measure to make sure the person has the card present. Because of this, they do not allow you to store it in any manner.

Thanks,
Jamie

can the cart be modified to send the ccv number in the email along with the rest of the information for the client to manually run the order using their physical terminal? This client does not use real time processing and said he is required to run the transactions using the CCV number.

Hello Ken,

There is a long thread discussing this here:

Yea..I dont think the rules matter to this client. He says he has to have the CCV to run the credit card. I need to find someone who can custom code this cart to send that info in the email along with everything else.

Can anyone do this? The client will pay.

Thanks,
Ken

Hello Ken,

He says he has to have the CCV to run the credit card.
While I don't doubt he said this, I doubt that this is the case. The whole purpose for the security code is for the customer to verify they have the card on them during a "card not present" transaction. Sometimes this number wears off, in which case it can't be entered. Some cards don't even have it.

Can anyone do this? The client will pay. We can't do this for you for the reasons outlined in the post I linked to. We do not allow others to conduct business in the forums (give quotes for custom work).

The client went with a payment processor to solve this problem.
