View Full Version : UPS RTR not posting

I installed 2 Continue Shopping buttons into the checkout area of the cart. They work fine. As I add items into the cart this message displays at the top of the screen:

A default shipping method of ($) has been added to your order.

I've never noticed it before, so I don't know if this is normal or if it is an error.

When I continue to retrieve the UPS RTR, sometimes I get the method selection screen and sometimes they will not display. If they do display, I can make my choice, but it does not post the rates into the checkout page. I receive this notification at the top of the screen:

A default shipping method of United Parcel Service UPS Ground ($0.00) has been added to your order.

As I click the Continue button the a blank screen posts.

I have checked the items in the catalog and they have a weight entered into the Dimensions area and the enabled services is listed in the Shipping Details area.

I have checked the shipping rules and I do have at least one UPS rule enabled. I'm at a loss. I sure could use some advice to help out. Sorry for the bother.

I really need to get this fixed, so I read through some old notes that I have kept from previous problems. At one point, when I was having a similar problem, Jamie asked me to reset the UPS Online Tools. It worked fine. This time I made things worse. Now when I try to Enable UPS Online Tools fron the Couriers area, I go through the process and it fails at the point where I enter the Contact Information. I get the following error that will not let me continue.

We have encountered an error!

Error Code: 10001
Error Severity: Hard
Error Description: The XML document is not well formed

I really need some help to get this fixed before I try anything else. Any ideas that I can try is appreciated. Totaly Confused! :confused:

I couldn't wait any longer so I took the long way around. I copied the original files from ver 1.3.1 that dealt with shipping and UPS. When I went to register the UPS RTR it completed. I rebuilt the rules and remodified the necessary files to get the shipping functional again. I just need to check the error for quoting Residential rates instead of Commercial rates. :banghead:

I ran into the same error:

A default shipping method of ($) has been added to your order.

After I deselected UPS Third Day service from the shipping couriers record screen my UPS Online Tools registration became disabled.

Had to resignup with UPS to get shipping portion of cart to function properly again.
