How are returns / credits processed? How about settlement requests?

Are these functions handled with squirrelcart, or must we deal directly with our payment gateway?

If the latter is the case, do gateways such as authorize.net provide an efficient interface for performing these functions on a large number of orders at once? I would hate to have to look up each order individually and request settlement and/or credits...

At this time, returns and credits must be handled through your gateway.



If the latter is the case, do gateways such as authorize.net provide an efficient interface for performing these functions on a large number of orders at once?Since most gateways differ in operation, it would be best to submit this question to the gateway that you are using.

We process our returns directly with A.net, however, we've never had a need to do more than one at a time.

How about the settlement requests after shipping? (that's really what I meant about the large number at a time... I hope I don'y have large numbers of returns! :) ).

Is that handled in the cart via a change to order status or something, or does that also need to be handled at the gateway?
