How painless will upgrading from 1.0.9 be?

Currently have v 1.0.9

How tricky is it to upgrade - what is involved? Is there somewhere on these pages can talk me through?

Hi,

There were a few changes that could make it a little tricky. I would recommend you download 1.4, and follow the instructions in the documentation for upgrading, in "squirelcart/docs/index.htm". There are 2 special links at the top of the upgrade section, that read:

Important Note! - If you are upgrading from v1.1.0 to v1.2.0, click here for important information and refer to item #1.

Important Note! - If you are upgrading from v1.2.0 to v1.3.0, click here for important information.

You will need to follow both of these. If you follow the directions carefully, and make sure you backup everything (also explained in the documentation) you should be OK.

If it looks Greek to you, and you would prefer to have us upgrade it for you, I would suggest purchasing an upgrade:

If I purchase the upgrade install, will it be to the version 1.4.0?

The upgrade installation only covers the labor of the actual installation. The following is listed in the description of the Basic Upgrade product:


Please note that this product is for the actual upgrade of your cart (the labor), and DOES NOT include a newer version of the software. We will upgrade your cart using the version of the software available to you on our support page. If your download access has expired, you will need to renew your access before the upgade can be performed.
It looks like your download access expired in November of last year, so you'll need to renew it before you can access the latest version of the cart. The renewal fee for a Single Site license is now $49.
