Hi,

My client requires only an online catalogue with pictures and descriptions. Can Squirrelcart be modified so no shopping cart options are enabled? We may want to incorporate this feature later, but for now it will be like a paper catalogue. The distributors will email their "shopping list" to my client (wholesaler).

Can each distributor have their own account/password? Is this easy to manage?

Also, my client's site is a fairly explicit adult sex toys Web site. Is there a restriction on her purchasing Squirrelcart for her site?

Thank you.

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for checking us out.

By modifying some templates, you can remove the add to cart buttons, and do exactly what you mentioned. The cart is designed to support an unlimited number of customers. It is also designed for a single merchant to sell their goods. Because of this, if you can consider the distributors as the "customers" for the site, and there is only 1 merchant (the wholesaler in this case) that will be displaying their products, it should work fine. The customer accounts are easy to manage. You can see them by going to the admin demo, and clicking the customers icon (looks like 3 people):

Thanks,
Jamie

Hi, Jamie,

From your reply I gather the nature of my client's business (adult sex toys) is not a concern, but you didn't address this directly so I thought I should check again.

I am very happy to have found this solution so I hope it's okay!

The nature of your client's business isn't a problem. We have a few other customers that are in the same business.
