Shipping method doesn't show up in rule

I created a new courier (Royal Mail) to handle shipping in UK, added a method (First class postage) but when I come to add some rules, the method doesn't show up when I select Royal Mail as the courier.

Perhaps as a result of this, the shipping selects US Postal Service as the default agent, even though I've deselected this as a courier, and will not allow a change.

What's wrong and how can I check on a valid set of courier/method/rule?

The answer is that after creating a new method, you have to go back and select it on the Courier page as "Services".

Why I still got US Mail as the default was, I think, that there was still a rule selected for it even tho the Courier was disabled.
