I read the post regarding integration with a current site, but my question falls between the lines (I think).

I have a site that displays product info in detail and then has 'buy it now', 'add to cart', 'check out' links to another site running miva. This site is also used as a frontend for customers who have purchased before and don't need the technical assistance.

Can squirrel cart work within these paramterers, and if so, would you give me an example?

Thanks in advance, and I heard about your product from hotscripts.

Hi David,

Thanks for checking us out. If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you are asking if Squirrelcart can be used as a product catalog only, linking to another shopping cart for adding to the cart, checking out, etc. If this is what you are asking, it may be possible through lots of template changes. I do not have anyone using it this way, and I can't say for certain that you wouldn't have problems, as it was not designed to function in that manner.

Thanks,
Jamie

Basically, I wanted to replace Miva with squirrel cart. On my main website I still want the links as posted below for each product in the technical catalog, and then my shopping site will be the full full squirrel cart INSTEAD of MIVA.

Easy or hard?

Hi David,

Sorry about that. I misunderstood you. It is hard to say whether integration into an existing site is easy or difficult because skill level of the installer can vary. I would suggest taking a look at the documentation here:

Squirrelcart is designed to generate your category and product listings. We recommend that you let it do this, and get the look you need by modifying template files.

Some people prefer to design their own product pages, which is also possible. This method describes how to link a product so that you can add it to the cart with code generated manually:
