Customizing menu in admn panel

I've just downloaded SquirrelCart, and had it up and running within minutes. Congratulations on a fantastic product!

Is it possible to customize the menu in the admin panel?

I would like to disable/remove the 'Tools' menu as we won't be using the UPS OnLine tools and would prefer that this option wasn't listed.

Idealy we would like to disable/remove or restrict the 'Themes' sub menu too. We want our administrators to administer the sales system, without being tempted to 'tinker' with the look and feel.

I'm reasonably competent with php/javascript/mysql (although clearly not competent enough to figure out for myself if/how this can be done :o )

We do not have support for customizing the admin menu. We use a third party tool to generate the menu, and it is not easily modified.
