After many problems with another cart system, we started looking for another solution. After testing a couple of carts, Squirrelcart was picked.

So we spent a lot of time working on the customization and everything. Ah! It's done, we're all happy, let's do some test orders...

Wait a second... we have a problem.

We will process A LOT of orders every day and this thing dosen't have any real order management admin panel. Wow... Let's read the forums, maybe we missed something... WHAT? Order management is email based?

Ok... so we're totally screwed now...

So what do we do? At this point, we can't use Squirrelcart because it would be illogical for us to update every single order everytime we get one or everytime we get a payment.

What should we do?

Hi,

Order management is built into the latest version, 1.2.0. You can download it on our support page, and upgrade. Just follow the upgrade instructions in "squirrelcart/docs" in the new distribution. You can preview the functionality in our online demos.

Thanks,
Jamie

Well what you call "Order management" is wrong in so many ways. First, there is no default status. Second, if user pays with paypal or CC, the order is not updated. We would need to do it manually.

That's just two little things out of what I have in mind but for me, that's not really order management.

Additional note: we are running the latest version 1.2.0

Hi Fuitad,

The default status for an order is "Order Placed". While you do not see that when editing an order, the customer sees it when viewing one.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we call it "Order Management", and it is definitely an improvement over the previous version. We have online demos of Squirrelcart, in which all features can be tested. We did not claim to have any "Order Management" capabilities in v1.1.0, so I am unsure as to how you got the impression that it had them. We will be expanding the feature in the future.

Thanks,
Jamie
